Implementing Campaign Manager - System Management

Configuring The Authentication Lockout Level

System administrators can configure the authentication system to lockout at either login level or IP level when the maximum number of login attempts has been reached.

If the authentication system is set to lockout at IP level, when a login reaches the maximum number of login attempts, all logins from the same IP also become locked out.

If the authentication system is set to lockout at login level, only that login becomes locked out if it reaches the maximum number of login attempts.

Procedure

  • In the AlterianAuth.Auth.LoginPasswordRules SQL table, set the value in the noIPLockout column to '0' or '1':
    • 0: the authentication system locks out at IP level
    • 1: the authentication system locks out at login level
